Dr. Pauline Haugen
DC – Chiropractor,
BASI PILATES INSTRUCTOR
& LULULEMON AMBASSADOR
Dr. Pauline Haugen opened Higher Health Chiropractic Bellevue, WA, in 2009, after seven years of practice in Colorado. Dr. Haugen was a competitive figure skater until the age of 18 and then discovered she had a talent for running.
She was first exposed to the benefits of chiropractic care as a young athlete. She ran for the Canadian National Team and then earned a full scholarship to The University of Michigan where she became an NCAA Division 1 athlete in track and cross-country. As a nationally competitive runner, Dr. Pauline Haugen suffered a number of sports injuries. After years of frustration it was chiropractic care that got her running again and stopped the repetitive injury cycle.
The concept of diagnosing the underlying cause of the injury versus simply treating the symptoms inspired Dr. Haugen to become a chiropractor. Dr. Pauline Haugen is also a BASI certified Pilates instructor. She specializes in injury and sports rehabilitation Pilates. She also specializes in Functional Nutrition, weight loss as well as properly fueling your body for an active lifestyle or athletic performance.
"I have been in the care of Dr. Pauline Haugen for the last 6 weeks have have made health improvements beyond my wildest dreams! She's smart, professional, compassionate and so gifted in her profession."

Dr. Haugen was exposed to the benefits of Pilates when she opened her first practice in 2001. She was looking for a form of fitness that would strengthen all of the accessory muscles that are neglected with common forms of exercise, like running and weight lifting. After practicing Pilates for 1 year she noticed a significant increase in her core strength, flexibility and joint strength as well as a reduction of injury.
She began to refer her patients to a local Pilates Studio once they were tapered down on their treatment plans. She realized patients who were taking Pilates had less incidents of re injury and were able to wait 4 weeks in between their adjustments.
